Dr Olaf Neumann — gynaecologist

Dr Olaf Neumann

Dr med. Olaf Neumann (Dr. med. Olaf Neumann) is Chief Physician of the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at Munich Hospital Schwabing in Munich. Women consult him for gynaecological conditions that require an operation, and expectant mothers whose pregnancy is taking a complicated course.

Where the doctor practises and what they do

Dr Neumann is a specialist in gynaecology and obstetrics and heads the department in Schwabing. His main field is operative gynaecology: conditions that call for surgery, from fibroids of the womb and ovarian cysts to prolapse of the pelvic organs. He also holds the focus qualification in gynaecological oncology, that is, in tumours of the female reproductive organs, and is authorised in drug-based cancer therapy.

His second field is special obstetrics and perinatal medicine: the care of pregnancy and childbirth in situations of raised risk, for example when the mother has an illness of her own, in multiple pregnancies, or when the baby’s development gives cause for concern. In such cases the plan for the birth is agreed in advance together with the neonatal team.

What they are known for

Dr Neumann is authorised to carry out specialist training in his own right: in gynaecology and obstetrics to the full extent, in special obstetrics and perinatal medicine, and in drug-based tumour therapy. This authorisation is granted by the regional medical council and means that the department covers the whole range of these specialities.
