Prof. Dr med. Wolfgang Würfel completed his medical studies and doctorate at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in 1981, followed by specialist training as a gynaecologist. Between 1989 and 1991, he served as Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago under a German Research Foundation (DFG) fellowship. He completed his habilitation in 1991 and was appointed adjunct professor at the University of Würzburg in 1996. Throughout his career, he has earned specialist recognitions in reproductive endocrinology, perinatal medicine, and operative gynaecology. Prof. Dr med. Wolfgang Würfel served as Vice President and board member of DGGEF (German Society for Gynaecological Endocrinology and Reproductive Medicine), board member of DGRM (German Society for Reproductive Medicine), member of the DGGG guidelines commission, and examiner for the Bavarian State Medical Association.
