Dr med. Daniela Grenacher-Horn (Dr. med. Daniela Grenacher-Horn) is the owner and head of Münchner Onkologie, a specialist practice for haematology and medical oncology with its own day clinic in the old centre of Munich. Patients come to her with a newly diagnosed tumour, with blood disorders and for a second opinion on a chemotherapy that has been proposed.
Where the doctor practises and what they do
Dr Grenacher-Horn has run the Münchner Onkologie practice since April 2017. She is a specialist in internal medicine, haematology and medical oncology: she treats tumours with medicines, carries out haematological and oncological diagnostics, arranges and supervises blood transfusions and advises on clotting disorders. Chemotherapy is given as an outpatient treatment in the day clinic attached to the practice, and blood tests are performed in its own laboratory.
She also gives second opinions on treatment that has already been recommended, looks after patients before and after an operation or a course of therapy, and works in palliative medicine, the care that relieves symptoms and preserves strength when a tumour cannot be removed. What they are known for
Daniela Grenacher-Horn studied human medicine at the University of Heidelberg and completed her specialist training in internal medicine, haematology and medical oncology at Heidelberg University Hospital. She worked as a specialist at the breast and bowel centre of the German Cancer Society at Langen Hospital and as a senior physician at the Thoraxklinik of the University of Heidelberg. She then led the oncology section at Sinsheim Hospital, a teaching hospital of the University of Heidelberg, and built up an oncological practice there. In 2016 she moved to Munich. She has held the examination of the European Society for Medical Oncology since 2010, recertified in 2015, takes part in the Munich tumour boards and has cooperated with the lung centre of Klinikum Bogenhausen since 2018.
