Assoc. Prof. Ahmed Farouk Abdelkawi EG has been serving as Head Physician of the Department of Gynaecology at Marienkrankenhaus Hamburg since January 2018, having previously worked there as Senior Physician from August 2013 and Leading Senior Physician from October 2015. His clinical work encompasses general gynaecology, obstetrics, and perinatal medicine. He performs operations in breast cancer surgery, gynaecological oncology, and keyhole interventions using minimal-invasive surgery and robotic surgery.

He completed his medical studies at Assiut University in Egypt in 1997, followed by residency and appointment as a specialist in 2002. After working as a visiting doctor at MHH Hannover and Heidelberg University Women’s Hospital, he obtained his German specialist qualification in 2006 and his German licence to practise (Approbation) in 2008. He held senior roles at Schwarzwald Baar Klinikum, leading its obstetrics department from 2010 to 2013. He holds certified qualifications including MIC III in advanced laparoscopic surgery (2020), Senior Mammaoperateur in breast surgery (2018), and Gynaecological Oncology (2017). His clinic is recognized as an official medical advisory centre of the German Continence Society. He speaks German, English, and Arabic, and is a member of professional societies including AGO, AGE, DKG, DGGG, DEGUM, and SERGS.
