Christiane Neumann (Christiane Neumann) is Chief Physician of the Department of Internal Medicine at Rhön-Klinikum Campus Bad Neustadt in Bad Neustadt. Patients come to her with diseases of the internal organs – when unclear symptoms need to be worked out, a diagnosis confirmed and treatment chosen, and when several chronic conditions need attention at the same time.
Where the doctor practises and what they do
Christiane Neumann heads the Department of Internal Medicine at the Rhön-Klinikum campus in Bad Neustadt, where the medical department works side by side with the other departments of the campus. Internal medicine is the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of diseases of the internal organs: heart and blood vessels, lungs, stomach and bowel, liver, kidneys and the hormone-producing glands, as well as metabolic disorders. As Chief Physician she is responsible for ensuring that each patient is examined thoroughly and that treatment takes account of all their conditions and the medicines they take.
Patients are also admitted to internal medicine when the cause of their complaints is not yet clear – for example with prolonged fever, weight loss, breathlessness or weakness – and a systematic search is needed: laboratory tests, ultrasound, endoscopy and, where necessary, CT or MRI.
